The return of the Unicorns and other Pixie Elves.

Its been a busy month here and not only I have I made four new dolls I have painted eight Pixie elves. Okay four of these were the new mini elves but its still eight. I also found some lovely new paints while out on a girls day out with my Mum and the Girlie. I will obviously have to go back and get some more along with a larger box to hold all my paints.

First up are the two sets of mini Pixie Elves, I used the new shimmer green and purple paints in these along with a very yummy gold.

I also bought two chalk paints a pale pink and a blueberry, they have given a nice finish to the wood bodies of the pixie elves. I used the gold and a few other paints on Bouquet a small sized Pixie Elf.

The gold and the shimmer paints came in handy for the next pixie elf.  I'm surprised it hasn't been stolen by the Lad yet, his new Betta called Loki, was the inspiration for this one.

I used the chalk paints and the gold antique effect on the last two pixie elves which both have Unicorns on them. I had to repeat the Unicorns as I really enjoyed painting the last one and these I enjoyed too. First is Blackie a black and gold Unicorn on a pink pixie elf, Girlie really likes this one so I may need to keep an eye on it.

And this is my favourite on the blueberry chalk paint which is a very gorgeous blue purple and the gold on top just shimmers.

I have some wooden hearts that might end up with unicorns and some of my other favourite designs on them, like the honey bee. But in the meantime these Cornish Pixie Elves will find themselves in my Etsy shop over the next week, if they haven't found homes or been stolen by the girlie or the lad.

Until next time

A Mermaid, a Witch, a Fairy and a Devil.

The title of today's blog, as you may have guessed, is about four new small art dolls I've made recently. I have also made some new Pixie Elves but that will be in the next blog post.
Well my stock has been getting a bit low and I've not had huge amounts of time to create but recently I made an effort to get some new dolls made.

First up is Rilla the mermaid, I changed the pattern on this one a bit and added a pipe cleaner / chenille stick into the tail fin and then sewed around it and added some veining. It worked really well and it also means the fins can be moved and posed more. I also wanted to add some lampwork beads to her and used them as bangles on her wrists, I think it worked really well.

Now I must introduce you to Bluebelle Amethyst Deamonne, she is this years winner of the most glamorous Witch of the year. I love making my witch dolls and this one I decided was going to be a bit more glam and bling than the usual witches I do. I had trouble with choosing her hair colour but the white merino wool looked the best.

So next is the fairy doll and she is called Cassie and I love her face, she's turned out very serene and demure. I used the last of my favourite shot taffeta for her body and teamed her up with some beautiful shot blue chiffon. Oh and not forgetting her wings which are lace butterflies trimmed into wings.

And last but not least we have Lucy, as she likes to be known, her full name is Lucinda Princess of the underworld and regions of Hell and daughter of Lucifer.  This doll has been stuck in my head probably since last year, I was going to make her for halloween but time was against me as usual. But here she is now and I have a few more polymer horns left, including Unicorn horns, so there may be another little devil one day.

All of these dolls will be available in my Etsy shop sometime next week but first the have to go to a Masquerade Ball, aka my next 48 hour show in the Artist Limelight group on Facebook.

I'm off now to write a blog post on the new pixie elves ready to publish next week so I'll see you soon.
Until Next time
